This hand-carved dagger was inspired by Romeo & Juliet, where Juliet uses Romeo’s dagger to take her own life after finding out her beloved had poisoned himself. I used the symbolism of the rose at the top to reference the famous line “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” The cracks in the dagger and in my other piece, Juliet’s Elixir, represent a broken heart.
